Is this free because when I get a Voice mail it automatically wants to direct me there. Also how do I take it off Speaker when listening to my messages.

Dude, 1 hour is not nearly long enough for waiting for a response.

AFAICT, You Mail is free - but if you use it, then obviously you're probably going to use airtime if it actually dials out to the You Mail servers. Conversely, if you listen to the recorded message without dialing in, you're using DATA.

The service itself is pretty good, it has advantages and disadvantages over the built in Google Voice.

I don't use it - but are you dialing into or listening to the 'mp3' recorded messages?

if the latter, I don't think there is another way to listen to them without a headset. If you're dialing in, then obviously hit the speaker button and it should go to just the earphone.
