I am thinking about downloading a new "launcher" for my rooted stock rom phone. Zeam and Go Launcher both appeal to me based on articles I've read...

Any thoughts on why one over the other? Likes/dislikes? FAvorite configurations, etc?

    TIA!

EDIT: also, if anyone has experience with this...can I put a home replacement app on my sd card with Link2sd or would that mess up the functionality?

Zeam is snappy and light on resources, but much more limited than Go or LP or whatever. If you haven't used another launcher yet, though, it's a good one to start with to learn. In a week or so, you'll get bored with it and be ready for a step up.

I'm not rooted, so I can't answer your second question.

I started with Launcher Pro then tried ADW, didn't like ADW at all. Then I gave Go Launcher a try, I haven't looked back to the others since. I use the Black Glass theme with a different wallpaper.

While I have no idea which launcher runs best on the Optimus, I have tried a TON of launchers and my personal launcher of choice is Zeam. :)

Go Launcher can do a lot. I like that it supports scrolling widgets, for example, my calendar widget. I like the themes and the ability to make as many screens as I like and put more or fewer icons on those screens. I like the transition effects, and customizing the dock. I also like Go SMS and GO weather, I guess I am fond of the "GO" line in general.

I'm with MacFett, Go Launcher with the black glass theme. It can be a little laggy sometimes but it looks great!!

Thanks for all your comments! I decided to try Go Launcher...wow, so much to do and so much to learn!

@lizm, how do you get the calendar to scroll?

If anyone has any tips on using GL, let me know! And, if anyone thinks it's a bad idea for me to have linked it with Link2sd, please say so.

    Thanks again!

It's an agenda widget that scrolls. It's called "Agenda Widget", in fact, and I like that it shows all my stuff on a full screen on my phone and I can scroll through events without having to click through to the calendar.

"Scrolling is available with ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, Xperia Arv launcher and others. Zeam has dropped scrolling launcher support"

I actually am OK with Swype, though animal sounds are tempting, no doubt ;)

O ok, I didn't knoω υ prefer Sωiρε. The animal sounds is repetitious and Go Keyboard takes up almost 7mb so υ may not like it, anyway :)

I'm all "GO", rooted, link2SD for almost all apps EXCEPT Go, Swype, and system apps. Why bother? I have 100 apps (170mb worth), and still have 105mb free space. I have no custom ROMs, just plain old root.
