I just got this zte 762 a few days ago to notice that it is on gingerbread ( 2.3.5) and I'm wondering if I would be able to upgrade it to jelly bean 4.2?

I'm sorry for the late reply. To my knowledge you can not update to a newer android version. The only way for this to happen is to have a dev port the new android version to your phone.

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any upgrade path for this device that I can find. Since we do not have a section for this specific model, I'm moving this to the "other phone" section in the hope it finds a little more attention there.

This phone didn't have sufficient hardware to support jb or ics... don't get me wrong it's a very reliable phone...I would've answered sooner had you used the phones proper model number which it's the ZTE n762 sold by public mobile...
