ZTE Avid Vs LG Motion, which would you get?

Paroled, but my POs are watching and listening...
Do you go for a somewhat unknown new phone (and brand) with a 1/2" larger screen,

OR

Stick with the 1/2" smaller screen phone known to be one of the Best?

(Honestly, the fact that ZTE is basically a Chinese Government <Commie> company puts a pretty bad taste in my mouth too.)

You have to get one of the two, which do YOU get and why?

On the processor I wonder if anyone will know without getting inside it. :thinking:

I see where ZTE has no issues divulging that the Anthem has the Snapdragon but I can't find the processor listed Anywhere for the Avid. Maybe the no name processor has something to do with it's lower price?

Seems if it were meant to be known, the info would be out there somewhere by now.

Yeah I really don't think there's going to be much of a real comparison, unless that extra half inch of screen means that much to you.

ZTE phones have a crappy track record, at best they've been middle of the road.

I'd also like to point out that while they are both listed as the same price, the Motion is actually more and is being subsidized by Metro by about $100.

Finding specs isn't too hard guys. Here's a few links for you.

Personally, I might choose the ZTE Avid if I didn't already own a LG Motion 4G. A bigger higher resolution screen is nice. Then again, LG has a sweet 1GB ram, 1.5Ghz cpu (via LG accident), and the battery lasts longer. It's a tough call. On second thought I might go with LG.

According to my research, ZTE impressively has more worldwide sales than LG.
 
i would pass on ZTE just because it has 512mb of ram. Battery life isnt smthat great either. And more than 50% less internal memory that the Motion
 
I think the only data missing from any "full data sheets" everyone was looking for was the processor maker. That is STILL missing.

So far as ZTE's sales numbers go (even though they aren't #1 as stated in the prior post), when your country has as many people as the rest of the planet Combined and your very controlling government Owns the cell phone company, it's not real difficult to ring up impressive sales numbers. :rolleyes:

(I am far from any activist. Still the Commie Chinese govt gives me the bloody cramps. There are many things in the U.S. that are Chinese made that are hard to find substitutes for from other countries. This time, a cell phone ISN'T one of those. This is actually a pretty strong reason for me to NOT go for the ZTE.)

Not to mention they won't divulge the processor in this phone. Why not, they sure mentioned it when it's a Snapdragon one? Maybe because it's a crappy one?

Being allegedly a state owned company, it might bother me wondering if my phone had been made by some poor blind, deaf, mute, quad amputee, Chinese child convict worker.

Millions of products are made in china, so what? Do you think people in Korea and Taiwan get paid more than a few bucks a day?

I don't believe that routers article, all they are trying to do is to keep less players on our market. Apple had a similar security threat a few years back, and by the way I don't think you can buy an iPhone in Germany for exactly the same reasons as mentioned in the article. For some reason US does not look at Apple the same way.

Yes but huge difference in quality between Chinese phones and south Korean phones. This issue is primarily user preference kind of like cars we have people that don't mind owning a kia and others like me prefer a Honda or a toyota. We all could say reasons why kias are no good or whatever but reality of someone is happy with it that's all that matters. But also just be cautious with these Chinese phones there are reports of it being untrustworthy in terms of it being bugged to spy on us.
