There are a few things you can look at. First, if it's in a case, take it out and try to call someone. Check your volume settings for calls. If you have a noise cancelling feature try and turn it off. Finally, look in the dialer settings for a mute opition.
I don't have one, nor have I ever seen one, but if they have a headphone jack, it could be the culprit. Has this been a problem with the phone since you got it? or is this something recent.
Okay. When you say no one can hear you, do they hear anything and the volume is just really low on their end? Or do they hear nothing at all?
I'd try calling yourself on a land line to confirm what ever the actual voice transmission sounds like. You can also check to see if the phone is set to Voice over IP (wifi calling .. which your carrier might not support, hence the dead air).
