Hey all,

So apparently build 2.03.403 was released by HTC for our Legends on or around the 8th June.

- HTC Legend Firmware Update 2.03.403: New Features | xda-developers
- Firmware Update - Legend HTC WWE 2.03.405.3 - xda-developers

Major improvements are:

  • New version of Quickoffice
  • Battery life improvement
  • Improved performance
  • Multitouch for Google Maps (!)
  • New Radio

My Legend, which I bought sim-free / network-free / unbranded does not tell me I'm due for upgrade, therefore I'm still running 1.31.405.5

So am I in the minority or are most of you rocking 1.31.405.x too?

EDIT: Voting/Poll will close in 28 days so forum search results in the future do not provide false information!!

What am i doing wrong??
I did the goldcard, I open the update, it finds my phone and goes it to reboot mode, then it just stays as waiting for bootloader, which stays for about 2 mins ... then it comes up as error please check USB is in phone and PC and that's it!

Also when it says connect your phone I do that, now it comes up with all 4 options, charge only, HTC Sync, Driver method andsomething else, what do I click on now? coz it will just load HTC Sync if left on for about 10 secs

-----------------------------------------------

Can someone please tell me their method of doing this please
also when reating a goldcard what does this mean
"4. *Make sure you have installed the SDK and Fastboot correctly from Section I!!!"

I didnt understand that fastboot bit
Am using the guide from here How To: Create a Goldcard | TheUnlockr

did you download the rom from a site called ShippedRoms?

thats where i got mine and once i downloaded it i just treated it like installing a new program. plug my phone in, then open the rom...it does the rest for you.

i got mine here:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Legend/

the one i downloaded is called:
RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe

To create a gold card I used this - Klutsh.com -> Download Manager -> Software Releases -> GoldCard Tool v0.0.5 (use at your own risk)

And then I used the same ROM as mentioned by Mr.Derringer.

Seemed like a much quicker and easier way to do things, and it worked for me.

Just be aware that -

1. You will probably void your warranty doing this
2. If it goes wrong you could end up with a phone that doesn't work at all

EDIT:
I left it at the screen and re-started the ROM, now it's coming up as "sending" instead of "waiting for Bootloader" ...... hopefully it's doing it =)

Debranded mine today. I missed a obvious trick, and it drove me nuts. I created my Goldcard, but the first MicroSD card I tried did not work too well. I then tried other cards and nothing worked.

The bit I only later realised, is the Goldcard is specific to the card you are using, if you try another card, you need to re-capture the serial number, and regenerete the Goldcard each time.

Doh... Shame none of the guides mention this subtle point!!! I wasted the best part of a day on that problem.

I also got a Error 140 error updating Bootloader. It would not load the older HTC RUU on it, I had to use the newer 2.03.405.3 which worked a champ.

I also had LOTS of problems in Windows7. Using the vista driver made things a little better, but still problematic. It would say the "HTC bootloader driver was locked in memory" and it needed a reboot. Flashing in XP was alot less problematic.
