Unrevoked made it waaay to easy to root. Now people with no business rooting, like myself, can do it in the time it takes me to go downstairs and feed the dog . Seeing how easy getting root was, I tried my hand at installing a custom kernel. Big mistake seeing as I don't even know what that means. I tried installing hydra and the next thing I know, my phone is stuck on the boot animation and refuses to load any further. I almost cried . I rebooted about a hundred times and got the same result. By that point I was pretty sure my phone was now a shiny black brick.
I went in to the Verizon store to see what I could do about replacing it. To be honest, I had every intention of going in there and just getting a Droid X instead. Didn't realize just how huge that thing was until I saw it. The camera was pretty disappointing too. Moto/ninjablur was just the nail in the coffin. Of course, none of that really mattered because they had neither the Incredible nor the X in stock (silly me). They told me to come in on monday since their system was down and they would send me a replacement Incredible. (The manager there confirmed the OTA coming soon btw)
I got home and looked up how to do a hard reset, hoping it would wipe out whatever mess I put on there but that didn't work. Right when I was ready to give up, I remembered seeing a recovery option during the reset. Nandroid to the rescue! Needless to say, I'm pretty much done tinkering for now. I'll leave the overclocking to the experts. Word of advice: Make sure you know what you're doing before you start messing around with the programming. Its really not worth it.
