Help Setting wallpaper without cropping...how do I do it?

Is there a way to do it? I took a picture in portrait that fits the Droid X screen size perfectly and I want to use that as my wallpaper.

I have scrollable wallpaper off and don't use the landscape mode for the home screen. I have that turned off as well. So really it makes no sense and its highly annoying.

I made a video to show what I was talking about because its kind of hard to explain...or some people just don't get it. Whatever if you don't understand let me know and I'll post the link up to youtube after its done uploading.

EDIT: Here is the video. I'm guessing when they designed this they wanted the wallpaper to stretch across all your screens or something...ghey.

totally agree - mind boggling that they would put out a 16:9 phone and force a 4:3 aspect ratio for your wallpaper...

I can't even believe it. utterly and completely non-hetro.

hoping this will be fixed upon 2.2 update. but not holding my breath.

@damstr - you never mention what the name of the program is!!

cheers,
b

Hi. i found and image viewer that can set wallpapers as-is. meaning you zoom to the picture (or not) and then set it as "use current screen". So what you see in viewer is on your wallpaper and they are not in stupid 3:4 they are proper 1 screen size and ratio because of that picture don't move. It's called Perfect Viewer.
