on you sd card, there is a folder called media open it, then there are a folder called audio open it and there is a folder called notif. open it and put all you tones for sms and so on in it then you can use it for sms/mms and e-mail

yes you can create it, and it will work for you

create that here:

Sdcard/Media/Audio/alarms

Sdcard/Media/Audio/notifications

Sdcard/Media/Audio/ringtones

I have tried but I'm struggling. So if I connect the phone as a disk drive and go to that drive in Windows Explorer, do I actually create an Sdcard directory and subdirectories or create just Media and subdirectories at the root of the drive. Have tried it both ways but can't get it to work. Do I need to create all 3 (alarms, notifications, ringtones)?

You need only need to create media and subdirectories

Hi, Sorry to be really thick but im new to the whole Android and Htc wildfire game! I cannot use my songs as message tones so ive tried to follow your instructions to create the folders in the sd card option but havent got a clue what im doing. Ive got as far as using the phone as a disk drive but i dont know how to make the correct folders. Could someone talk me through it in simple instructions please. Oh and also the alarm doesnt seem to work if the phone is switched off, is this correct?
Kind regards

Hello there knudsen81, can you tell me how to explore the SD card? I've downloaded an app called Astro file manager and I still can't work it out. Without this app, I can't even explore what's on my SD card.
