Extra Sent Emails

I setup my Droid mail system with the Yahoo IMAP servers and everything seemed to be working fine.

The only issue is when I send an email from the droid. I sent a test mail from the Droid and it worked fine. A couple of hours later, I checked my sent mail folder on Yahoo Mail on the PC and I had like 15 extra sent mails.

It seems to add one every time the Droid checks for new mail, until I delete the sent mail of the droid.

Any ideas?

I have seen something similar. It has essentially ruined my experience. I hope there is a fix for this. My sent items folder has hundreds of copies now of many of the items I have sent from the phone. Thankfully I've been told that my friends only received them once. This is making it very difficult to find things in my sent folder.

My friend confirmed that he is also seeing the same problem. I appreciate it if the rest of you would check out your sent folder on the PC browser to see if you also have the same mess.

This happened to me as well, syncing to my corporate GroupWise account using IMAP. I ended up switching to K9mail, and haven't looked back. Doesn't solve your problem (sorry) but thought I'd post the alternative.

Thanks. I'm testing with k9 now. Looks pretty good. My early tests don't show any extra items in my sent folder. Thanks for the tip.

I really wish I could just use one good mail client for everything. I find now I have gmail, k9, and touchdown. would prefer to have one. Not a big deal I guess as long as they all put notifications out when there is a message.

looks like it is working. I also noticed that k9 lets me save attachments unlike the stock mail an dgmail apps ;-)

ugh ...

looks like if I delete a message in my yahoo inbox on my pc browser, it is not removed from the inbox in k9. then tapping on the message gives an error.

nothing is easy here. I guess that's better than my yahoo sent items folder messages multiplying like rabbits. I can't believe that there aren't a ton of people complaining about this.

my only answer may be to move to gmail from yahoo. It wouldn't be that tough probably as I only have like 50 people that mail me at yahoo probably. I could use the vacation setting to let em know.

Hi,

I also had the multiple sent items! Very aggravating!

I think I will try K9 as well. I would also like to have a single client!

Any other clients worth noting to try?

Thanks...

I'm liking K9 a lot actually. Supports saving attachments which the stock app did not. I had hundreds if not thousands of dupes in my sent folder actually. Really nasty bug.

looks like k9 is syncing better with their latest version. Deletes on the web are removing items from my phone. looks like the item count bug may also be fixed. k9 rocks!

With K-9, you may want to look at the folder "Class" settings, and the Sync permissions, just to make sure everything is in line. Some accounts (forum user created a Road Runner account for me to test) work better than others. The new RR account imported all the default folders into K9, where my Hotmail didn't, until there was activity. I had to manually configure the Hotmail to make them visible.

Do you know that there is a known issue with Yahoo POP mail on the DROID? I'm not sure what it is, but you may want to look into it. I think it was listed in the Dec 11th update notification.

edit - May be related to just the native POP app (from the Dec 11 notes):
