Newbie needs help

Hello all. I am new to both the HTC Hero and this site. I just switched from a touch pro. So far, I love the phone, but feel overwhelmed by all it can do. I am just feeling my way around and can't figure out how to bring in or create ringtones. Any ideas? Many thanks.

Moved to HTC Hero Forums...

Put your mp3 on the Sdcard ...
in the following directories ...

/sdcard/ringtones
/sdcard/alarms
/sdcard/notifications
/sdcard/UI

Then you will be able to select them as if they are part of the phone sounds that it came with ....

RingDroid is an app you can use to edit mp3s to make your own sounds ...

Thank you. I'll give it a shot. Windows mobile was very simple as far as finding files on the card. Not sure how to do it with droid yet, but will figure it out. Thanks again.

For my Hero:

Mount the phone on your PC.

Find the following folders:

/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications

Copy your mp3 files into either of the folders above.
Then go to Settings > sound and display > phone ringtone
Then select the ringtone you put in the above folder

And same for notifications.
