***Use "Quarter Brightness" If your phone's Brightness is at the Minimum setting****

Sorry I forgot to add that option, But im still curious to see how many people use this setting.

I was curious, this phone has a stunning display and I can't seem to allow myself to dim it all the way down. It ruins the phones beauty.

Im curious as to what your brightness is at, and how it affects your battery life.

I have no problem with the minimum brightness because I find it easier on my eyes when using my phone for longer periods of time

Thats a valid point. I can recall that with my Droid1 I had it set on minimum settings and didn't even realize it for a few months. But with the Droid X, going from Auto, to dim, seems like a downgrade to me personally. I assume though, that it wouldn't take to long to get used to it.

auto brighness is a drain on the battery. Its constantly in check with the light sensor to adjust the brightness. I always use a quarter brightness. If I need to I can adjust with the widget, but i rarely need to adjust

Is this a fact that you know for sure? Or is this speculation? Post a source of some kind. It does make sense, but is it truly more of a battery drain then a set Brightness?

I'd like to know this too. I always thought setting it on auto would result in less battery drain. Mine is set to auto, but I am willing to go with a "set" number if it helps battery life in a major way. We have an iPhone in the family and it is set to some ridiculous low amount, like 20%. I can't even read the damn screen ate low of an amount. I won't go lower than 40-50%.

I use 0% through the brightness widget when indoors and change it to auto when going outside. Works for me; easy to see at 0% indoors IMO, but I guess others don't agree. Auto indoors seems unnecessarily bright and wasteful. Battery life is really good for me.

The only issue I have is when I forget to change it to auto and then have somebody call me when I'm outside and I can't see the screen very well. I have to somewhat guess where the slider is...I was thinking of getting widget locker so that I could put the auto brite icon in the corner so I can easily click it when a call comes in even if I can't see it because I know the placement is in the corner. But I suppose that's for the lock screen, which isn't the same as when a call comes in, so I guess that wouldn't help me. Any ideas on this? Can you put a widget on a incoming call screen? Haven't seen that screen customized at all...
