Samsung Customer Service is terrible, Tmobile came through with flying colors though

I called Samsung and was referred to call 3 different phone numbers before somebody finally was able to help me. Finally after reaching the correct person I was on the line with them discussing the GPS issue(Not getting a lock, inaccurate/wonky) and was given the response "We have acknowledged the issue, but we can't help you at this time". I asked if it was a hardware issue whether it would be covered under warranty and was replied back "We are unable to answer that at this time, there will be an update for it". So unhelpful is an understatement for this issue and their response. It pretty much sounded like "The first rule of fight club is we do not talk about fight club".

Secondly I spoke with them regarding the massive battery drain I get once pulling it off the charger. With minimal usage (4 to 5 messages a day, 1 or 2 email checks, and 30 minutes of talk time) the battery easily dips below 50% remaining within 5 hours from being off the charger. I have completely minimized battery usage with all apps closed, wifi off, bluetooth off, gps off, no sync, and screen at minimum brightness. Their response was to go through the 30 minutes checklist of what I already told them, then followed it up with a "Send in the phone and we will evaluate its condition and update you". I let them know I cannot be without a phone and they pretty much told me to pound sand, oh and have a nice day.

I contacted T-mobile last and after a couple minutes of my explanation of the issues they responded with "We know there is a GPS issue and a fix is coming. Secondly I do not want you to get a refurb from the store so we will ship you out a brand new one right away, just ship the old one back once the new one arrives". They really emphasized they want me to be satisfied and not playing guessing games as to whether it is the phone or gps.

I am really glad that one of the two parties stepped up to the plate. My wife is wanting a vibrant and we will definitely wait to see how this pans out before jumping the gun on another one.

You think you had an issue with Samsung? I had one 1st tier tech support rep (female) tell me to remove my battery and tell me where my phone was manufactured, when I told her "Korea" she actually gave me an international phone number and told me to call Korea to get my answer!

I hung up and called back and was escalated to 2nd tier support where I got my answer, from then on I ask for their first name, last initial, location and employee ID info BEFORE I talk to them about my problem.

Quick question, are you basing your "poor battery performance" off what the little battery meter says in the notification bar? I'm asking because that thing is WAY off the mark as far as accuracy goes.. Even some of the battery widgets are pretty inaccurate on this phone for some reason.

I am using the system status battery %, the actual numbers.

Yea, it's highly inaccurate. I actually ran mine down to where the system said 10% remaining. Then I powered the phone off, pulled the battery for a couple seconds. Rebooted and suddenly had 31% again heh..

Just tried it again Battery Level shows 73%. Powered down, pulled battery, rebooted and Battery Level now shows 78%. The lower it gets the more off it is..

The batterylife widget from the store is right on with what it says IN the phone as to what % your battery is at. The battery indicator is off from those but it seems to be working on a scale. Shows it is full till it hits 79% than it drops. Drops again i think at 60 or 50%. So if your info in your phone says it is at 65% but the indicator shows it is still 4/5 full, it hasnt dropped down from its scale yet.

I hope this gets changed because going by the info in my phone, ....my battery sucks.
