Thinking about swapping X for Inc

The camera sensor on my X is already going bad with green and red dots appearing on my pictures and the phone has begun randomly locking up. I've read of a ton of these issues in the X forums and I think I'm just gonna try and hop over to the Inc which seems to be a smoother experience.

I'm still within my 30 day window but the problem is I don't have the original box anymore. Just the phone and the charger. Am I S.O.L?

You need to have all the original materials to take it back. It sounds to me that you are having a hardware issue, something worth taking it in and having them order you another phone. If you think the Incredible is an upgrade you should go spend time in the Inc forum. All of these phones have their quirks.

I had the Incredible and by far the X is a better device. There are issues with the X but moto has already said fix will be included with fryo in September. Verizon is sending me a new one today for freeze up issues which I found out from moto wont be fixed until September. If you go on motos web site there is a lot of info on the X there which might help you out. So far moto has been more responsive then Htc has been with the incredible.

I've had all the Verizon Droid phones (minus the Droid 2) and the Incredible was the phone I had the 2nd least amount of time before taking it back.

It went like this for me:
Droid Eris ~ Owned 10 days; returned for refund
Droid Incredible (pre-ordered; received on launch day) ~ Owned 27 days; returned for refund
Droid X (pre-ordered; received on launch day) ~ Still own and use
Droid 1 (pre-ordered; received on launch day) ~ Still own but don't use

The Incredible isn't a bad phone, I just feel the X is better in terms of build quality, features, overall performance and battery life. In that sense, the X is by far the better device... for me.

All these phones have issues, but ultimately it's still up to you to pick the one YOU like.

If they have to replace the phone will I get to hold on to the X I have while the new one comes in? I'm not sitting through another 2 weeks of waiting for this phone again. I love to use the camera and the red and green dots that are showing up on images is infuriating.

yes. just call CS. they will ship another one, and you will just have to ship back the old one when you get it.

I sent back my Incredible to Amazon, after having it for 2 weeks, then bought the X from Verizon (full price). On X: camera is hard to use, button sometimes doesn't work, also after making a phone call or checking a voicemail, the screen blacks out, and takes a while to get screen 'back'. Lots of lag time in trying to use home screen after a call. It tends to black out a lot, icons on home screen too big, need more real-estate, interface is dull.
I wished i had kept the Incredible, quite honestly. The HTC Sense is far more superior a UI. Even thought the battery on the Incredible is not so great.
