Read http://androidforums.com/lg-ally/15...know-about-lg-ally-android-system-itself.html it should help you out a little bit, just use the phone, dont be scared to play around with it, there's not a lot of dangerous settings in it, you gotta get used to Android and learn to "rely" on it and the things it does because its truly a different OS, its very unique.

I agree, just play around with the settings, the Ally was my first Android phone and for the first week I had it I went crazy changing settings and downloading replacement applications.

One thing to remember is if you have the device stock (not rooted) there really isnt much you can do to "break" it, I had a lock pattern set up on mine and I swapped phones with my girl (without her knowing) she failed the lock a few times then hit the log on assistance button, and since I had WiFi disabled I couldn't log into my gmail account to unlock the phone, I was afraid it was time to take it into VZ but after a little research on the web I found out how easy it was to perform a "factory reset"

Doing a factory reset will remove all free market apps and settings, but is a great way to get your phone back in working order if get all mucked up.
