Accessories Bed side stand

I have two of these . . .

They are ideal with my Moto Droid & great with my iPod Touch. . .
:)
. . . but not my favorite AT ALL with my Droid Inc, especially while charging!
The Dinc's charging port & the dock's uprights line up in the same spot in both orientations.
In landscape, the phone has to be shifted all the way to the edge & you can forget getting a cord to the phone with it in portrait!
:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Overall it's not a bad option when NOT charging

Here's what I did. If anyone frequents a certain other Droid forum you may have already seen this. Oh, and hi, I'm new here. This forum seems to be more useful than the other one I'm coming from.

So I pondered getting an EZEStand or a Mikradle but I'm very impatient sometimes, okay all the time, and decided to jerry rig myself a charging dock. Luckily I had all the materials I needed.

Ingredients
1. Crappy table from Target/Walmart that I've had forever
2. Business Card Holder that my wife had
3. Duck Tape (what project doesn't use duck tape)
4. Double sided tape.
5. A drill

Basically I drilled a hole in my cheap night stand table, put the micro usb charging cable into the hole, secured it with duck tape, aligned the business card holder, secured it with double sided tape, and presto, my own charging dock was born. It doesn't look horrible and the most important part is it's FUNCTIONAL.

I'm using the Droid X multimedia dock. I've removed the magnet and hdmi connector and all it really needs now is just a little bit of material shaved from the left side for the phone to sit perfectly flush (it's more noticeable in the picture than it is in reality).

Nice . . . this looks like the best make-shift dock I've seen to date!
Personally, I'm going with n2airz's stand, but I really like your setup!
