Root BBV.04 vs. Stock rooted FRG22

I was just wondering what everyone's opinion is regarding the BBV0.4 and the rooted stock FRG22. I have had BBV0.4, 928 black glass theme, running @ 1.1GHz for a while now and I have no complaints. Would it be worth it to switch to the stock rooted FRG22, or wait for the devs to put out custom ROMs based on FRG22. I know they put some nice tweaks in the custom ROMs. I'm feeling the itch to switch, but I don't want to do it for no real advantages.
Thanks in advance for everyone's opinion, there is no wrong or right response to this question. Only feedback that will allow me to make up my own mind.

I am a huge fan of the black glass theme. There is a black glass theme for the rooted stock version, which is why I am wondering if I should wait it out. LFY does look pretty good though. Thanks!

I tried that version but the time in on the notification bar was in black so i couldn't read it. Where'd you download it from?

I did not see a release on there for LFY though. I found out the hard way that if you don't get the right one for your ROM then the clock will be blacked out.

When I first rooted my phone it was the instructions to get FRG22. That was great, but honestly, it is no where near the speed of BB. I have 2 examples that show how much faster.

The first is launcherpro. On FRG22 it was constantly redrawing; exiting an app and going back to home would take forever to load all of the icons and widgets. Ok, forever as in like 2 seconds, but we're talking 2 seconds in droid time.

The second was Quadrant. I did a comparison before and after I flashed to BB, unfortunately I added a Chevy01 kernel before doing the test, this could be the speed gains I was seeing, but here's the snapshot I have.

I did both test with setCPU set to 800mhz. No tweaking or cheating was involved, I've just learned that apparently it's easy to fool Quadrant. Well, anyway, BB is way faster for me but all droids aren't created equal right? I say, flash it and try it out, if you don't like it just restore BB. Happy flashing ...... ok that didn't come out right.

That's because Pete optimizes his ROMs extensively to run better, especially in light of the DROID now being 'ancient' in terms of hardware capabilities.

it is not uncommon at all to find an Alternate ROM performing tremendously better than a stock ROM - else three would be no alternate ROMs, only themes that you apply to stock.
