Help SMS and Email Icons not showing # unread

Can the SMS/Text or Email icons on the home page show the number of unread items like the Motorola messaging widget does?

Not the stock ones, AFAIK, but Launcher Pro has that ability.

That's one of the things I was looking for as well, but it doesn't appear as if it can be set that way...

...however, I did notice that if you go into the Messaging app--the one with the mailbox icon, that lists all of your e-mail accounts and text messaging--it does display the number of unread items over the icons within. Because I have multiple e-mail accounts on my phone, I've found that I'm starting to prefer this way myself.

HTC sense does this also. I don't get why Motorola would not add it. Are there any good notification widgets?
