I'm beginning to think that the December update will also cure cancer! :D

Seriously with all of the little issues brought up in these forums, the answer seems to be "the December update will correct these problems". I'm sure some things will get fixed, but I hope we aren't setting ourselves up for a big letdown.

I love this phone so any updates will make it that much better.

i have a feeling this thread is going to be busy!
cause i for one cannot WAIT!
the crazy thing is dec 11th is my sons b-day so u would think (based on the money i have to spend) i would want it to take its time getting here!
but man...its like im getting a present for his b-day also! :)
to be honest, the only thing i would be let down on is with NOT getting 2.0 (or 2.1). i mean, i REALLLLY want that new navigation program!
based on what i been reading, the google terms and conditions for the market place are set to go into effect on dec. 11th. this is from google not verizon. since its contractual i would think that verizon will have a responsibility getting this out also, considering they are using a contracted device (i know that makes since lol). so, being that the market place will DEFINITELY get a change, wouldnt it make since to just bump us to AT LEAST 1.6 (the navigation works in 1.6). that way we have the new market place and...everyones happy.
also, the reason i believe we should most certainly get an update is because apparently 2.1 makes significant software improvements and covers MOST of the things listed on verizons Bulletin thingy.
also, 2.1 is ready so verizon would but only need to say we want it, we will support the update (i KNOW their servers can handle the hit) and roll it out. anyone care to expound?
it could make the time go by faster just talking about it :)

That's the last thing we need, you know..when December 11 comes and we don't have Eclair on our phones, there are going to be so many posts bitching about why we didn't get it..blah blah. I'm not expecting the Eclair update, although it would certainly make me happy since I need Google Nav VERY badly.

yeah well, i for one will girlin (bitchin) if we dont get 2.1 on dec 11th!
i mean it just be empty banner but :)
i mean come on!
(spoiled brat in me speaking now)
all the other phones got updates and it was a big event!
i want that too!
particularly since im with verizon who IS the best!
i want the best!
NOW!!!
ok...realisticly :)
if we dont get i`ll be ok...as long as they fix the battery issue and the other issues they have listed.
but google nav wouldnt hurt EITHER!;)

Is there a way to turn off all sounds except my alarm on the HTC Eris??
It's driving me crazy having all my e-mail and text sent to my phone in the middle of the night and waking me up when I just need my alarm sound on?

you can also download Locale from the marketplace and create completely custom settings based on your current location and time I believe. I've downloaded it but not completely set it up yet for my phone. Allows you to not have to manually change settings all the time and automate it.

I want all the above but instead of the alarm, I just want the phone to ring overnight, if necessary, without the text/email alerts. How can I set that up? Can I set that up with Locale?
