Help Who got the blue tinted screens?

I was at Verizon tonight comparing my Fascinate with the DX. I fired up both browsers and was surprised to see my whites were actually blue in color. The DX had a brilliant white background.

Next to the DX was a Fascinate. I fired up its browser and low & behold, it too had a very white background. Now I'm like WTF! Why the inconsistent quality?

The next question is; Do I ask for another phone or just deal with it?

Ask for a new phone, I know the Vibrant had the same "issue" for some people.

Mine is very white. This maybe a dumb question, but do you have in set on auto dim? Mine is set on the highest setting all the time. If you change the settings and still notice the blue tint, get a new one. No way you should have to deal with that.

I know what he is talking about, I doubt it's a brightness setting. It's literally blue tint, you can probably google search it with Vibrant in it and should get a post on Android Central with pictures.

I did notice a blue tint when I had the Epic. I only noticed it on white backgrounds, like Googles homepage. I probably wouldn't have noticed it at all had I not had the Droid X next to it. The Droid X was white, but harsher on my eyes. Now I have the Fascinate, and nothing to compare it to, but it seems white to me. I'll have to test it against my husbands Evo.

When the screen is off it has a deep blue tint, I wonder if that is where the blue is coming from.

My Epic has super bright whites. My sister's Epic has a slightly cooler white though. Mine is more warm and whiter. Guess I got lucky lol. Got mine day 1 too...

Yep. Just depends on what you're used to. If you're used to the Droid X or HTC phones like I am, the samsung does appear a tad blue, or at least cooler in temperature than the droids and HTCs. If your'e used to S-AMOLED already, then the other phones should look warmer.

I definitely detect a slight hint of blueness, or coolness if you will, on the Fascinate. I personally like the color blue, though. So I don't mind it one bit!

This is the same issue Incredible users had. There were lots of Incredibles that had that pink hue to the screen. You really could notice in when in gmail. When I first received my X and put it side to side with the Incredible, with gmail open, it was quite noticeable.

I had 3 Incredibles. The first one had no pink hue or at least I couldn't tell. The next one was horrible. The third one was slightly pink. LOL

My Incredible had a slight pink hue to grey's and white's when viewed at an angle. This phone doesn't seem any *worse* than that, though now you've all got me worried that my screen isn't quite up to par.

I do get slightly bothered by the faint green line on the far far left. It's hardly distinguishable in most circumstances, but there are times I notice it.

I had the same issue called verizon and they wanted to send me a certified like new. I said seriously y'all already have certified like new of this phone. The rep told me yes someone probably went into the store opened the box and decided to get an eris instead just as an example. (an eris really rofl, poor guy) Anyways took it back to the store and they exchanged me for a brand new one with no issues. The rep said some phones just slip through the quality control or some batches are sometimes bad, makes sense but I am happy now. Definitely go get a replacement, remember your within your thirty days worry free guarantee.

I also went through this with my DINC. I replaced the first phone but the pink hue was actually worse. Its a crap shoot. You may actually get one thats worse.

This will be the case with ALL S-Amoled screens due to the pixel structure. In S-Amoled screen the blue pixel is larger than the other pixels thus the blue color in light colors and whites in particular. It will of course vary device to device but it will always be there.

This totally pisses me off. I had 3 Dinc's and 4 i*hone's before that...these companies are succumbing to the pressure of getting product to market with a VERY understanding community. Every other manufacturing company is expected to do product recalls when a product is defective - the cell phone industry just gets away with it.

Mine has a bluish tint. I came from the D1, and that was white. My boyfriend's D1 was bluish and pinkish though. But this Fascinate is bluish, but I don't mind because it's LED lit so of course it's not going to be perfect.

It is late 2010 and it is okay to have screens that have white backgrounds.
End conclusion: Amoled is a step backward in LED appearance.

As I sit here thinking of the blue screen at the ATT store and the posts here it feels like waiting for the DroidX is a better idea.
Due to wanting to order from wirefly.com (if it really has 1400min for $9.99 on att family plan) and wirefly making you not change the phone for some time- I'd be stuck with a bad display if I go with the best deal I can find on a Captivate. Darn it.

I just held my Fascinate up to my computer sceen and compared the photos mentioned above. My sceen has zero blue tint to it. It could not be any more white.....Not sure, but some may have issues and others not. I also checked out the wifes Inc next to the Fascinate and mine has a better white. Humm
