in-call sms notification

Haven't seen this posted so ill ask. While on a call and I get a text there is nothing that notifies me of this ie..a tone or phone vibration. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using handcent, go into handcent app, menu, settings, notification settings, notification settings, scroll all the way to the bottom and you can check 'sound on call' or 'vibrate on call'

Thanks always wanted to try a different messaging app, this will finally give me reason to. I wonder why that option is not available on the stock messaging app?

Don't know why

When you download handcent , make sure in the stock messaging app you uncheck 3 things in the settings: Delivery reports, auto-retrieve, notifications

Then you won't get double notifications
