i have a dead spot on my touch screen. it doesnt bug me too much. if i have any dialer other than the stock one, it wont dial the #3. but there are ways around that. Here's where i need your opinion....

Should i call verizon and get a refurb? my phone hasnt had any problems other than that. i had a great 1.5, a great 2.1 and an even better 2.2. MY worry is if i get a refurb, it will have more problems than i have ever had.

the upside to that is, if i do get lemons, i might get upgraded to a different phone. the down side of that is the eris is the perfect size and quality build for me.

what would you do?

Yes, I know that. You already have one that's bad. If you get another bad one, return it. I don't enjoy spending what I spend to subsidize the purchase of this phone every month to use a defective one.

you are right. i called them and hopefully the refurb they are sending me is as good as this one.

Keep on mind that not all refurbs are the same. A number of them would have returned due to user error and others due to software problems. Since it sounds like you are rooting anyway, neither of these should be a concern. Just test everything for hardware problems and you should be fine.

Oh no, ATK is far too weak. You need the latest thing, Vincent's Involuntary Redundant User Service. It is a much better app and is guaranteed to shut down anything and everything on your phone. It will keep your RAM completely free all the time so you never need to worry about it.
