I was at the lake on Saturday, and the lady driving my girlfriend and I around had gotten stopped twice for a running light being out. The first time she got a ticket, the second time a warning. She now carries glow sticks for when a bulb goes out. However, when we were heading back to her house, it was dark, and the red running light had gone out. I had been showing her my phone at dinner, and she was very impressed. When she found out she had no red glow stick, she said too bad I couldn't use my phone. *lightbulb comes on* I turned on the "color flashlight" app, and changed the color to red, then sat at the front of the pontoon boat and held the phone out front, with a death grip that would've completely stopped an iPhone from being functional. Anyway, it worked quite well! Amazing devices, these DX's!

Hey - it could have been a lot worse...you could have been flying in a small plane:D

Great story!

lol.....did you dent the phone by any chance? :p

I can imagine, I don't think I would have been ballsy enough to hold my phone out at the very front of a boat, theres always that chance something goes wrong and you drop your phone.

Yeah, having dropped a phone to the bottom of a lake before (a dumb phone fortunately), I would be hard pressed to have the guts, too, unless I duct taped it to my hand. :D

Not to ruin a good story, but the bigger question is why her lights fail that often. It sure sounds like a wiring issue. Probably a corroded contact. If it really is her lights burning out that quickly, the housings are probably letting water in and it is blowing out the bulbs. She should fix the problem rather than constantly worrying about it and having to carry glow sticks all the time.
