ARia vs Captivate...Which one?

I'm looking for my first Android phone and so far it seems to be a choice between these two. Ignoring price differences as a consideration, which do you think is the better phone?

So far my list of considerations are:

Both Phones: Currently running 2.1 and expected to go to Froyo soon.

Aria:

Pros: Working GPS, Some Adobe flash functionality
Cons: Slower Processor, Smaller, lower res Screen, Does not meet proposed requirements for Gingerbread

Captivate:

Pros: Larger hi-res Screen, faster processor, meets proposed specs for Gingerbread

Cons: Faulty GPS, no current adobe flash functionality


Are there any other serious problems/benefits about either phone that I am missing and should consider?

Captivate, the GPS was fixed. It's getting froyo around halloween

The GPS "fix" from today's package doesn't seem to fix anything. Neither Samsung nor At&T have promised Froyo by Halloween. Samsung did say that international Galaxy S would get it by Haloween, but thats a different phone

The best thing is to go to ATT and try them both out. Otherwise you'll just get opinions back and forth that won't really help you.

Do this.

Though, if you still want an opinion, personally, the one thing that stopped me from getting the aria was the phone size, that and the reduced specs.

This is exactly what I did. And it is the best thing to do. Because no matter what opinions people give you, you probably should get the phone that best fits your needs and one that you feel comfortable with. But as far as considering specs go I'd say Captivate is the better phone overall.

Well, I made my decision.. The Samsung Vibrant on T-Mobile.



Basically the benefits of the Captivate without the ATT block on 3rd party apps.

I have the same decision but I would have to change out other phone lines in my family plan to jump carriers.

I am kinda leaning this way:

Aria - 60%
Captivate - 40%

Waiting to see if Captivate has official lag/gps fixes without rooting.

The Moto Bravo coming soon looks good too.
