hi all,
I'd really appreciate help with this:

the phone is the htc desire, it's unlocked but not unbranded from t-mobile and currently with o2. I got the OTA for 2.2 and didnt update it because the last time i updated it caused my wifi to fook up meaning my first two weeks of owning a desire meant waiting for it to come back from HTC repair... adding salt to the wound, it came back locked meaning i had to fork out another tenner to unlock again.

so question! does anyone have experience of updating to 2.2 on an unlocked but branded phone (on t mobile). Will it lock the phone again ?

THAAANKSS in advance

I thought once you got a code for your device, it would always work on it?

the phone was bought brand new and unlocked from ebay (i assumed the seller asked for the code from tmobile). But because it had to be rooted by htc, it became locked to tmobile again and i went to an independent seller of unlock codes so its not an official code.

oh sorry i just understood what u said! so if it DOES become locked again i can just put in the code i bought and it should work, is that right?

I think so, yeah. Also if the seller had a code, I would expect that would work too.

Maybe its worth using an ruu to unbrand it and update it to froyo at the same time? It will wipe all your data (much of which you can backup using mybackup pro free trial).

I don't know what the best course of action is really. Wait for someone else to reply ;)

Hi, i have just purchased a HTC desire and i would like to get it unlocked, so i can use it on the three network. Where can i get/purchase the code from to unlock the phone and how do i get it unbrnaded.
