Help Contact pictures

I have a samsung fascinate and I was wondering how to make all the pictures in my contacts to be peoples facebook pictures. Also, how do I make their persons pictures show up on chimp sms or handscent?

When you sign intothe facebook app you have the option to link facebook friends to your contacts. This should add their facebook pictures as contact pictures...once you get this set up they will display in chomp our handcent. If you have nicknames as contacts it probably won't link them so I suggest syncmypix from the market.

P.S. you can re sync your friends from the options menu in the facebook app.
Also it is crucial that you have at least the last name of the person in the comrade for it to sync the correct facebook account

I actually would like it to be the other way around. It seems that if you link your phone contact and Facebook contact that the FB pic always shows. My "friends" are always putting odd pics on their profiles and I would really prefer their face instead of their dog or car or whatever.

Exactly, b/c it's not in the actual facebook app. My co-worker just got a Fascinate and we were trying to figure this out. I have a Captivate and didn't bother syncing my contacts but it's easy peasy.

First, if you haven't synced your facebook account by selecting yes after first signing in to the app or by manually doing in the contacts menu>accounts>add account>sync contacts/birthdays/etc then do so of course.

Afterwards, go into contacts menu again and select "get friends" and then it will pull up a list of your accounts that you have synced. Select which one and then voila! If you opted to have b-days and contacts or whatever it will be on your phone now. Hope this helps and if I'm missing something please add to or let me know. I didn't realize how different the execution of processes vary btwn the fascinate and captivate.

Thanks odindra!!!! It was the "get friends" under the contacts menu that did it for me...I kept syncing my facebook acct with no pics showing up. I was getting so frustrated.

Solution for Known Issue:

I've seen other forums where the previous listed solutions didn't work, for those of you who experienced this problem, try the following:

The contacts need to be saved to the device itself with Android 2.1 and later on some Samsung models for full Facebook contacts sync. By default the contacts save to your gmail account. If someone transferred the contacts directly to the phone itself or you typed them in yourself, the other solutions should work. If not try this:

1. Back up contacts to your sd card. -Open contacts, press menu, press more, press export/import. Press export to sd card, note the file name, press ok.

2. Now, import the contacts to the device itself. -Open contacts, press menu, press more, press export/import, press import from sd card. *Important* Now you will see an option for "create contact under account", choose PHONE. Warning: you may get some duplicates. It will search your sd card. Click import one vcard file. Click on the file you made a note of in part 1. Press ok. The contacts may take some time to import depending on the # of them.

3. Go back and try to sync Facebook as you did before, or see instructions on how to sync Facebook in previous comments.

Hopefully that solves it for those of you who have tried everything else!
