Help new desire user an a question please

hi guys,after having symbian for years and the past year having my maemo n900 i went for the android desire,i have to be honest ITS AWESOME:) i cant beleive how fast it is im really taken back by the browser speed,very impressed.the touch screen is fantastic too,ive never had capacitive(allthough the n900 resistive is good)its very impressive.so are there any must have apps i should look out for.anyway quick couple of questions.i downloaded the task killer as i couldn't find a native way of closing apps like the browser,so is there a native way,allso i downloaded the voice synthaseiser for voice navigation but does the desire have its own maps to install for voice navigation,the way google maps look to me is that they download as you go.any way gotta go but i may have some more wquestions soon,thanks guys:)

The browser is the only one you really need to exit (or it will keep loading if the page you leave it on auto-refreshes). I wish HTC would put a close button in the menu as the other way is a pain.

To close cleanly:
Hit Menu->Window and bring-up a new window.
Hit Menu->Window Again and close your other window(s)
You end-up with one home-screen selected, back-up out of that.

Can't fault the above comments, though. Lose the task-killer.

If you do want to Force-Close stuff (and unless they're bad apps there's no reason to) you can do it from Manage Apps in the Settings. I recommend System Panel as an app for monitoring whats going on, you can Froce Close from there too (but it's not a task-killer so it doesn't mess the rest of the phone up).

Google nav is download OTA as required only I'm afraid.

If you want offline Nav then other than Tomtom.. all the usual suspects sell Nav apps for android. (Copilot/Ndrive/Navigon etc..)

Just look in the android market. You can try any app for 24hrs and if you don't like/want just uninstall it for a full refund.
