Any idea when the Desire can expect OS 2.2 (Froyo)?

since gingerbread cant be that far away from release the question you should be askeing your suplier is what reason can they give for you to renew with them when your contract ends since they cant even keep your phone upto date????

ill be changeing as soon as mine runs out... it dosent take this long to add there network crap to an os thats been round for months. i gave up and debranded mine a month ago, i rooted this week and in a few weeks ill probably take a screw driver to the caseing

Yes I called and stopped in. It is US Cellular as a carrier. They said they it was expected to be realesed soon.

Not good enough for me.

And actually my acrrier is really good. I can pull up youtube, ebay, etc. actual sites in less the 5 seconds. Very fast service, at a fair price.

I just want Froyo because I heard I can have my apps from the market switched to download to the SD Card instead of the internal memory.

I meant suck as in "doesn't deliver OTA updates remotely on time." I think the Desire's official build of Froyo has been out since 1 August.

Again I dont know what everyones terms are. I have a NON SIM CARD Carrier. I am in the United States. I bought the phone 6 days ago.

If its unbranded try:

MENU>SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATES>CHECK NOW

Does branded mean NON GSM phone?

Does branded mean LOCKED? ... lol...

Anyway from what I was able to find out from what it seems US Cellular is pushing the Froyo OS this month for us.

Probably about christmas / january time.
The desire HD and Z will need to be selling first. They have only been out for like a week.

However, apparently gingerbread 3.0 comes out at christmas time and january so....
