Reckless Racing - Android app on AppBrain

The game downloads from market is about 3mb. When you launch the game it downloads the main file to the SD card (even on Android 2.1). The server was over run yesterday but seems to be working today but still a bit slow.

The game itself is great fun ! I'll try out online game later...

The game works on the HTC Legend but the frame rate drops in race. If you can pull out a lead and drop the other cars of screen its just about playable. However it is borderline on the HTC Legend, so be warned.

Normally, if the developer can't be bothered putting screen shots in the Market, I can't be bothered downloading their app. In this case I will make an exception. I bought it and after it claimed I had no license (going to their Buy It link and opening it from the Market seemed to solve that), it began the download process. After about 5 minutes I see no progress in the progress bar but will wait since you said it takes a while.

Best graphics of any game I've played yet on android. The 3D engine looks gorgeous! I hope they do more with it :)

With that being said, you definitely need a phone with a dedicated GPU. Sorry, but snapdragons wont cut it.

The game actually runs decent (better than most 3d games) on my Hero (oc'd to 768). The game runs flawlessly on my friends Incredible. The graphics look excellent, but this game seems to get by with relatively little in the hardware department.

That's the first I've heard of it running well on the snapdragon family of devices... but great news :) I should give it a go on my EVO just to see.

The Game is atm not in the Market.

News from Polarbit:

Since the release on Thursday, the demand for Reckless Racing has been insane. While we are of course extremely proud and happy about this, it has also created severe issues for many users when attempting to download the game data from our servers. Quite simply, we were not prepared for the massive amounts of users, and have not scaled our server solution accordingly. That the bulk of these problems occured during a weekend did not help.

We are very, very sorry about these problems, and apologize again to all the people who’ve wanted to play this fantastic game, but have so far been unable to. This is entirely on us.

In light of this, we have decided to pull Reckless Racing from Android Market temporarily, while we work on scaling up our data servers. We hope to have this done within the coming 24 hours, and that the game will be up again sometime Monday evening (Central European Time).

Do not hesitate to send us note of any issues through our contact form.

Regards,

The Polarbit Team

Due to demand, Polarbit have temporarily pulled this game ... there's a reason for this level of demand:

This is easily the best combination of fun and awesome graphics on an Android! I was patient enough to wait for the download on Saturday and it was well worth it!

Protip - get Reckless Racing!

Good graphics and fun for a bit, but waaaay too easy. I beat all 3 tiers the 1st time I played without losing once. Not enough tracks or cars either. Not work $2.99 IMHO, but that's just me probably. I got about 50 times the gameplay with Minisquadron and that cost me a buck.
I thought it was pretty easy as well... but I guarantee you this game will get a lot of updates to make it worthwhile.

I also hope the developers use this 3D engine for more stuff. This is easily the best looking game on Android right now. Look at that water! *drool*
