Outlook sync app

Is there an app that directly synce the Samsung Fascination with the Outlook client WITHOUT having to go through the crappy Google calendar? I currently use the google supplied sync app and it is a piece of crap. I does not resolve conflicts. It does not delete entries that I have deleted oin Outlook. It does not transfer appointments that were created by others that I have accepted. I never had a problem with my old WinMobile phone and Activesync. I cannot connect to our Exchange server for updates so I must sync directly with my local client. I am getting so sick of companies telling me how I should be doing stuff. First Verizon with all the bloatware you cannot remove and now this. I was told I could sync just like my old phone. Using XP with Office 2007

I have an HTC (Desire HD) and found a reasonable solution with MyPhoneExplorer. I use it to sync from Outlook 2000 (yeah, yeah, I know but I'm not shelling out for a newer version until I update my PC to something newer and go W7 ...) for contacts and calendar.

You should try touchdown, it has worked with my office activesync and outlook issues.

Thanks, been there and no help. They all either require loading some application on your computer, or require going through Google or do not use USB. Cannot find anything simple that does all I want.

How did you get this set up? It keeps asking for the Exchange Server. As I stated previously....I cannot connect to the Exchange Server and must sync with the Outlook client as Activesync does with my current WM phone. This is what I am looking for.

MyPhoneExplorer, for my phone anyway, only needs the HTC drivers installed. The phone is connected via USB to my PC and all syncing is done locally. I only have an Outlook client.

Or am I missing something? Seems to me there HAS to be something installed on the PC to be able to extract the information you need from Outlook. So, sorry. Can't really understand your problems with MPE - unless, of course, it doesn't actually work?

From what I saw there is a large app that needs to be installed on the client computer. This is on a corporate computer and they frown on external apps. I was hoping for a small footprint service.....like Activesync...that just sits there and does the sync. I don't need to control the phone or know naything aobut it. Just an app that sits in the tray and does a sync when needed. I did download Companion Link and it does work.....so I may give that a shot. I just like the way Activesync works and am suprised someone has not duplicated that. Plug in your phone and it chugs away doing its job. Thanks

Ah, now I understand. Sorry, wasn't trying to be funny, just misunderstood.

But is the phone supplied by the company as well? If so you may have a case to *persuade* them of the benefits of installing an app. to sort out your contacts/calendar?

I did check into this before I got an Android phone and wasn't able to find too much along the lines of local sync but at least there are one or two solutions. As mine is all for personal use I don't have the same problems as you ..... Hope you get it sorted.
