Help After charging Desire notifies Preparing SD Card

Taskiller Used?: Advanced Task Cleaner installed but not normally used to kill/FC
Are You rooted & which Rom: not rooted - stock

Recently upgraded to Froyo, which is when this problem started occurring. After removing the charger, the Desire notifies that it is Preparing SD Card (in other words mounting it).

This means Apps2SD is a no go, as it stops any app installed this way, when is mounts the SD card.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Apps like WinAmp, Double Twist and iSincr have auto-mounting function.
Maybe "Preparing SD Card" was unmounting?

Finally discovered the cause of my problems.

I was using a third party AC USB charger, which had 2 symptoms while the Desire was charging: made the touchscreen go crazy (this occurred before the Froyo update) and unmounted the SD card (only after Froyo update).

Once I returned to the HTC charger, both problems disappeared.

However if I connect my Desire to a PC via USB (Charging only) the SD card also dismounts. So this behaviour may be related to Froyo - I have seen similar comments about this problem.

Like I said, some apps override "Charging only" and unmount SD from phone and mount SD to PC (or charger ).

If you don't have WinAmp or Double Twist or iSincr on your phone you should look for similar apps.

You are a GD genius!!!

Winamp was jacking my stuff up. Turned off auto-mount and BINGO! No more issues.
