Root Is there a searchable/ sortable list of ROMs for the evo anywhere?

I'm thinking of one that would allow me to narrow the list down based on whether the camera worked or not. Does 4g work? Other features.

Seems like there are hundreds out there.

Keep this in mind when you looking for a new rom...

Sense/Senseless Roms - All features should work.

AOSP - No 4G or HDMI

Sense 2.0 (Desire HD ports) - No Camera/Camcorder

Whenever you are at XDA and you find a ROM that you like, in the first post they will tell you if there are features not yet supported.

Here is a list of ROMs as well but the list is not always up to date and does not include what is and what is not working.

HTC Supersonic/ROMs - XDA-Developers

Wow,

That sucks. I'd really like to find an open source ROM I love and support it but w/o a camera or 4g it's tough to even consider trying one.

Thanks

You'll only lose 4g and HDMI with an AOSP rom like CM. It's always worth a try since you can easily make a nandroid backup and switch back if you don't like it.

Thanks aka.

I've only backed up with clockwork so far. So I'm a little anxious about titanium, amon (which I havent even found yet and according to ROM manager there are conflicts or something), and doing nandroids. However I do want to experiment and find the right ROM. I just don't want to spend hours getting them set up the way I like to only find out that I don't like them... Fresh seems cool so far.

You shouldn't have any issues with restoring clockwork nandroid backups. I am curious as to what this ROM manager issue is with flashing amon RA. As far as ROMs are concerned, if you're not comfortable with switching to an AOSP rom, there are several sense based roms with as much "sense" removed as possible to make them more AOSP-like.

Its not an issue with ROM manager per say... I think its the fact that you cant use ROM manager without Clockwork mod. Amon in my opinion is the way to go! It backs up your wimax image, which can come in handy if you ever lose your RSA keys! And plus I dont like installing roms through rom manager, I feel more comfortable doing it manually so I know everything is done!

Right, sorry, I should have specified. I think what he meant was he tried flashing RA from ROM manager, and it didn't work. You should be able to do that.

You know, I didn't buy Rom manager because i feellike It's so much faster to dl it into my laptop and then drag and drop it over. I still haven't figured out how to do a clockwork w/o ROM mngr, and I have no idea how to among or android. So for now I'm stuck w/ ROM .manager.

You're saying you don't know how to use clockwork without rom manager? It's easy enough to boot into recovery. You can select the option in rom manager or shutdown your phone, hold down volume down, then press the power key to get into hboot. From there, you can select recovery. All you need to do is have your flashable zip on the root of your sd card (or you can browse for it if you want with clockwork only).

If you want Amon RA, and can't flash it from rom manager for some reason, you can get it here:

[Recovery] [28-August-2010] RA-evo-v1.8.0 - xda-developers

That thread also explains how to install it.
