Help umm...how do I put music on this phone?

i just hooked my mytouch 4g up to my
computer with the usb cable, i then saw the drive on my computer,
then i opened up "mymusic" on my computer, i highlighted
all my songs and then i dragged and dropped them into the
mytouch 4g. it took a couple minutes and that was it.
i don't know if i did it right or not, but it has worked perfectly.
i didn't make files or anything, just dropped them in, and
it worked.

What is the recommended way to put .mp3s on this phone? I'm still unlocking my brain from the iPhone approach of syncing with iTunes.

Also...are there media players that are better than the stock media player? Just wondering...

thanks

I recommend Shazam music player

To put MP3's on the phone you can do numerous things, Connect to the computer then view files on MT4G and then drag and Drop from whatever program you use to manage you music I assume you use itunes so its the same concept. Take from itunes then drag it and drop it into the MT4g's folder. I hear there is also a program that lets you sync your MT4G to itunes and vice versa, I think its called double twist or something.

Media Monkey works great on my Droid 2 (and my former Moto Droid as well), and I'm getting the myTouch 4G as of Monday - so I'll use it for this device as well. I even can adjust the bitrate of the music to maximize the amount I can sync to my phone. It's my #1 media management application on my comp.

If the songs were purchased from the iTunes store and are protected, still have DRM on them, you won't be able to play them on you MyTouch.

Not sure how you tell if they are protected on a windows machine, but from a Mac right click the song in question and chose more info. It if says "MPEG-4 Audio File (Protected) next to Kind in the general section, it has DRM and you can only play it with a iProduct.
