2.2 and Beyond

Anyone heard when US Cellular is getting the 2.2 update?

Also, does the Mezmerize have what it takes to run 3.0 when it comes out? I hear that it is set to launch in the first part of 2011.

I talked with some techs and they said before christmas. I was told that about a month ago and on Tuesday I was told they were actively working on it and the best they could say was before christmas. Thats like 5 weeks so I guess we will see. I had the desire, and switched to the Mesmerize 2 weeks ago. They said the HTC Desire, and the Samsung Acclaim would definately have it before christmas and the Mesmerize should get it around the same time.

In other words, its better to stop fretting about it.

It should be OTA. A less desirable way would be an in-store upgrade. I know that some Blackberry customers had to do that in the past. That was a pain. If it's neither of those, then Samsung will have to come out with a Kies that is compatible with the Mesmerize. Kies mini might already be, I'm not sure. I'm loading that on to my Windows laptop tonight to try it.

The Desire and Acclaim are targeted to upgrade later this month, but may be pushed to January due to technical issues we're resolving with HTC and Samsung.
