Root [ROM ]--CHARITY--Smoked Glass Themed Version 11 !! Froyo 2.2.1 FRG83D

flashed this rom late last night. i havent had time to play with it much yet but i noticed it was still using chevyno1's lowv kernel (i was using 10.1 which had the ulv1.1 kernel). im flashing chevys ulv1.25 kernel now to see how my phone (and i) like it.

UPDATE:
running chevyno1's ulv 1.25 kernel. my phone likes it!! woohoo! haha it seems to be stable. the rom is pretty good. it's hard to change something that's nearly perfect already :D good job dew!

Has anybody had problems with the update.zip? Every time I go into Recovery to install the update, it says "E:Can't open /sdcard/sg11-update.zip (bad) Installation aborted."

I am getting the same thing. On ClockworkMod, tried redownloading, renaming, and placing in different folder remedies, with no luck. I d/l'd straight onto the phone tho, because I left my usb cable/charger in a hotel last week. Still getting the intallation aborted message as well. guess i'll have to find a replacement at the next hotel?

*Edit: downloaded the new Miren browser, and then d/l'd the file thru that... it worked! Guess it didnt like Xscope, or default browser *shrug*

try flashing an older recovery for clockwork. i've read that that may help.

I got it to work by putting the file directly on the desktop and then copying it to my sd card. Then it finally went through.

Hey Guys, bigbadboots over at droidforums.net wanted my Galaxy-S theme for this rom this. He hasn't replied yet, so I don't know how it worked. But I figured I would share here too.

CHARITY_SG11_GalaxyS_Theme.zip

It is a hodge-podge I have been working on over many roms, ports, etc. for a while now. Most thanks on the Galaxy S stuff credit goes to Haxzamatic, then Benny879, signals23, and the guys over at XDA for the Galaxy system dump.

This update.zip contains themed: Bluetooth.apk, Browser.apk, Calculator.apk, Calendar.apk, CalendarProvider.apk, Camera.apk, CarHomeGoogle.apk, CarHomeLauncher.apk, Contacts.apk, DeskClock.apk, DownloadProvider.apk, Email.apk, Gallery3D.apk, GenieWidget.apk, Gmail.apk, GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, LauncherPro.apk, Mms.apk, Music.apk, Phone.apk, Settings.apk, Talk.apk, Vending.apk, VoiceDialer.apk, YouTube.apk, and of course framework-res.apk. Some of above apk's are only themed as far as the launcher icons, some have more. If you want to change what installs just pull the files you don't like out of the update.zip.

Here are some images of how it looks on TUD 2.1.0

Rotary lock-screen on this one should look like this

Here are some of it on LFY 1.9

Here are some wallpapers I like on it:SimpleWallpapers.zip

NOTE SP Recovery apparently doesn't like this. Either use clockwork recovery to flash it, or fix it to work with SP because I don't know how

If there are issues easiest way to get a hold of me is over at Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

Any way to fix the brightness on this rom? Its a little to dark for me.

I used this method per Girluvsdroid for BB 05:

If the minimum brightness tweak in BBv0.5 is too dim for you... - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

The only thing I would suggest is make sure you use the correct version for your computer, I used the 32 bit version (Xultimate-ABP-x86.exe).

I also found the only way for me to avoid bootloops is once you have changed the framework apk. is to load it to the sd card, copy to system/app file, fix the permissions (long press on the file and check all the boxes). Then I moved that file to system/framework. It will ask you if you want to replace the current framework apk..Yes you do.

MAKE SURE YOU DO A BACK UP FIRST

In a nutshell.
1. Download root explorer from the market if you do not have it.
2. Download Xulitmate auto brightness patcher from here http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/47283-release-xultimate.html
3. Extract the proper file for your computer (I used Xultimate-ABP-x86.exe for 32 bit windows) and move it to a new folder.
4. Open root explorer and go to system/framework. Long press on framework apk. and copy it to your sd card.
5. Connect phone to computer and connect via usb and turn on storage. You should now find a file on the sd that is framwork apk. Move that file to the same folder you have the extrackted Xultimate file so that you have the 2 files (xultimate and framework apk) in the folder. Click on the xultimate extraction. It will ask you if you want to run, click yes.
6. A window will pop up that has the xultimate brighness settings. Type 6 (for stock brighness) and hit enter. A green box will appear and hit enter again.
7. The framework file is now changed. Copy that file back to the sd card. It will prompt you if you want to replace and you will enter yes. Turn off USB storage.
8. Open Root explorer again, long press on the framwork apk in the sd card file and move to system/app folder in root explorer. Once there long press on the file and enter fix permissions. Check all the boxes and close.
9. Long press on the file and click on "move". Hit the back button and go to system/framwork and paste the file there. It will ask you if you want to replace the file and you enter yes. Exit root explorer and reboot phone.

I hope I have not left anything out and take no responsibility for messing anything up as I am tech challanged and spend a lot of time in bootloops. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!

I had this issue on a couple 2.2.1 roms (UD 2.1 and LFY 1.95) without any themes at all. I had to clear my wifi access data, and re type in my passwords. Then as was good again. Plus I changes kernels and that seemed to help. I run Slayers 1.7 - 1.25ghz ulv from Liquids thread.

Can't seem to get it to work, so I had to roll back to stock v11 charity without the theme =/ I tried using different kernels and all the same wifi just sits on getting ip and doesn't connect.

How come when I install this ROM, system information tells me the CPU can run 1100 MHz but the fastest it goes is 800. Is this something I need to run "Setcpu" to achieve or something else?

Open setcpu hit the menu button on the bottom of the phone. Click on device selection/autodetect speeds/OK/OK and it should take you where you want to be.

My question is though.... Why does it only go to 800 stock? for some reason my phone doesnt like setcpu

Once you go through the steps I mentioned you should be able to move your slider to 1100 for the max. Set your min for 250 and use the interactive mode. Go to profiles and set them or use Dews dowload.

I can't remember what it starts out as. It seems like most of the rom makers want the rom to start out lower when first installed and let you ramp it up and take any risks involved.
