not interested in making phone calls

can this be done?
will there be added charges?
what do I need to know?

- Verizon can not and will not charge you for using someone else's WiFi.

- To be sure you are not using or roaming onto a Mobile data network, turn off Mobile network when you are there.

Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile network (off)
Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile network settings -> Data roaming (off)
Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile network settings -> Enable always-on mobile (off)
Settings -> WiFi (on)

- A hotel or other establishment in DR certainly can charge you to use their WiFi if they desire (similar to what hotels in the US used to do 10 years ago); I don't know if that is typical there. I imagine that if and when they charge it is a flat rate access - so many dollars per day or per hour.

Many Thanks for taking the time to give me such precise directions!!!

I wasn't clear in my initial post about added charges
I should have said added charges from Verizon

My hotel has wifi for a fee so I'm all set
I'm happy just to have internet access

again thanks for sharing
