Lanyard loops - important to portable gadgets

Just happened to notice that the rubber, protective case my wife bought for her iPod touch does have holes for this. There's also a strap laying on the kitchen counter that I don't know what it belongs to but I'm guessing it's from the case. Just checked Belkin's website and it's the Grip Ergo and yes, it includes a strap.

LOLaynards
I'm sure the owner of the 5 day old busted $500 Nexus One doesn't find it so funny. ;) Or are you such a slave to fashion that you don't care about busting your high tech that you so fkn love?

Around the wrist works quite well, thank you.
+1 here. I have a Galaxy, which does have a loop hole for this.

I loathe having stuff around my neck (lanyard) or wrists (carry a pocket watch), but when I use my expensive plastic brain over a hard surface, I'm prepared to "wear a seatbelt". I bought this phone unlocked, so warranty would be a fuss.

I've never dropped any electronic device and then thought "dang, if I only had a lanyard".

I've also never dropped a device and had it break from the fall. I have broken devices, but none from falls. The times when I do drop my devices (and believe me they fall often), a lanyard wouldn't have saved me anyhow (knocked off a table, fell out of pocket, fell off my lap, etc etc).

I dislike lanyards. I remove them :). I'm happy devices don't ship with them anymore.

I also took off the wii remote straps. Knock on wood, 3 years in and all 4 remotes still chugging along. They too have taken dives once or twice :).

I agree! I would cut it off or do whatever i would have to do to remove it!

Thats one of the most annoying things about the nexus. I wish there was some kind of hand strap or something. Its not the most ergonomic phone in the world either. I've actually considered taking my dremel to the case to try and put some holes in it for a strap.

This is just like when they stopped shipping USB cables with printers.
