Search feature on Google Maps not working

I recently noticed an issue on my Nexus One with the search feature on Google Maps. When you press the 'Menu' button (hard key) and hit the 'Search' icon on the soft key, nothing happens. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The only way for me to get the search feature to work is if I press the 'Search' button (hard key), which will eventually launch the Google search toolbar at the top of the screen.

Does anyone have any suggestions to get this working or is this a known issue?

If you do menu / search, it should bring down the search bar from the top of the screen.

Yeah, it should, but it doesn't. I'm wondering if a third party app I installed messed it up.

Yes there is, look at Settings / Privacy / Factory Data Reset.

You will lose all your personal data, so make sure all your contacts are backed up (ideally to Google, as this is the easiest option) & back up your apps (if you want to) to the SD Card using Astro File Manager off the market.

Some apps can screw the OS up.....just one of those things & one of the frustrations about the Market.

Thank you so much for your help. The Search feature now works correctly after I reset my N1 to factory settings. Astro File Manager works great!! I am glad you mentioned it. It makes backing up my apps/files so much easier.
