AOnlineRadio and Radiotime will play hot97. Others may as well, I just have those 2 programs and tried it.

Bloomberg I'm not sure about. I haven't found anything that will play an mms:// or .asx stream.

droidlive looks like it just works with shoutcast stations so it didn't work.

The second one you attached does work though. I couldn't find a way to add the station but it worked when I opened the stream link through the phone browser and then I could favorite it so it is there next time the program is opened.

Hey guys i have been trying figure this out forever! I found bloomberg in DroidCumulus but i have other mms:// stations i want to stream and i don't think DroidCumulus let's me add custom urls...so does anyone know any other way or apps that will let me add my own mms:// stations??

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ...this is actually a feature i was looking forward to most on the Incredible..but i have had no luck with it ='/

I tried getting mms: links working for quite a while and never found a good solution. I gave up once I found the program RadioTime ($3.) It doesn't let you add your own custom streams but it has more stations available than any other program I have seen, including the specific ones I wanted.

It seems like I'm pushing this program a lot lately. I have no affiliation with the developer; I just really like it

One year later, can you now listen to Bloomberg radio in the background while you do other things on your phone? And is the answer any different for the 4G Samsung Droid Charge than it is for the 3G HTC Incredible 2, the two phones I am looking at?

One way to play Bloomberg radio is by browsing to Bloomberg.com and then pushing the LISTEN LIVE button. Another way is through the Sirius Radio cell phone app. Apparently it also available through some of the apps mentioned above like TuneIn Radio.

I don't have a phone to test this stuff myself.

2. you can go to TuneIn.com right now and register and listen to and start saving your preset favorite stations for use on your Android phone before you even get it. set your favorites now and then see them on your Android when you log in.

As I mentioned above, I am looking at buying 4G Droid Charge or 3G Incredible 2, and I am leaning towards buying the Incredible 2. Do you happen to also know if 4G versus 3G should be expected to have any relationship to streaming radio signal/quality? I want to use a phone to listen to Bloomberg radio when I am in the car and when I am at the gym. I assume the 3G Droid Incredible 2 would likely be fine for this assuming that I am in an area with a strong 3G signal? Again, thank you for your previous answer.

3G is just fine for streaming Bloomberg Radio via TuneIn. 4G is overkill and burns battery life and not needed. I have an EVO 4G and only turn on 4G when i want simultaneous voice and data on CDMA. That makes it a good feature. Incredible 2 is nice but id also check out HTC Thunderbolt, Droid X2, and Bionic. I can never go back to any display less than 4.3" and would like 4.5"+. Good luck.

Ps i use an iPhone stereo headset and Seidio Active X Case. Both are handy for working out while listening to TuneIn.

I heard things we take for granted on real computers, like interactive charting, doesn't work on the smartphones. Is that true? Do you use your phone much for stock related stuff?

I am on Schwab, but since I still don't have a smartphone, I haven't seen Schwab's smartphone app. I am also a bike racer, hence my interest in the smaller form, lighter weight Incredible 2 versus larger Droid Charge, but the Incredible 2 is only 3G versus the Droid Charge 4G. Does that big Evo 4G fit in your pocket OK?

1. i am a long term investor (funds) and not a trader. i use the Google Finance App, Live Bloomberg Radio via Tune In, and just the web browser for cnbc.com and cnn money. the phone is critical for keeping in touch with the markets and i use it all the time. get a smartphone asap it will change your life.
2. the EVO 4G is fine in the hand and pocket. go test it out. i could never go back to any display less than 4.3" display. there's not much difference in phone weight/size but a big difference in display size. IMO go as big of display as you can. i recommend HTC products because of Sense and build quality and support/updates. i use 3G 99% of the time. 4G is not really important to me because it kills the batter by a factor of at least 2-3X and the speed is not that noticeable. however - one advantage of 4G is simulatenous voice + data with CDMA. this comes in handy for boring conference calls when you want to surf the web or need to look something up while on phone.
3. check out the Seidio Active X Silicone cases. best IMO.

That looks like a pretty cool app. I wonder if it works well with the Samsung Droid Charge? From what I read, the Droid Charge GPS is not as reliable as HTC. However, the Droid Charge seems to be reviewing better overall than Thunderbolt for Verizon LTE phones. Verizon has my city and house on their coverage map as LTE now.

XIIALIVE app for android will play the streams. After you install the app just open the url from the android browser and the app will play the stream, . There is a lite and a paid version. So far the lite version has worked for me.
