Help What is the max SD card supported?

People are assuming 64GB SD cards will be supported, but has there been any confirmation of this, besides people assuming it?

If it does support 64gb SD, seems silly to buy anything beyond the 8gb, since cheaper cost-wise to get a 64gb card and treat it as space..... Thoughts?

Actually - everything I have heard is it is compatible with up to 128gig SDXC cards:

I seem to recall hearing that direct from Toshiba, but I can't find that now and am not 1000% sure. But that is what I heard. I'll post on their facebook page and see if I can get them to reply.

But I would wait until you get it to be sure.

My only other issues will be the display, battery life and update efforts by Toshiba. The Transformer already has proven itself in those regards.

Is there any difference in the way on-board memory and SD card memory is treated? I was under the impression that the external SD card on honeycomb tablets were really only useful for tranferring data to the on-board memory. That you can't really play music or video directly from the SD card or even move apps to the SD card (the 8G or 16G on-board memory is treated like a phone's SD card). If that's the case, then that makes it more important to get something bigger than an 8G tablet.

Per the Mobiletech review, the Thrive should be fine. A500 and gTablet both play music, video and PSX games straight from sd card or USB thumbdrives.

I have the Thrive. It support SDXC cards and will play and manage anything on them. I bought a 64gb sdxc and it works just fine. Only problem is that media players (I have tried WinMedia and WinAmp) do not see the external sd card separately. So best option is to insertthe sd card into your desk/laptop and synch to it and then put it back in the thrive...a pain I agree.

I think that's easier than pulling out a cable and hooking up the Thrive itself. I can see it being an issue if you don't have a built-in or external SD card reader on the computer, but the vast majority of newer computers should have one. But for me, I'd much rather just pull out the SD card, pop it in my computer, and then slide it right back in the Thrive. It's a much faster process that way (at least in my opinion).

Sorry... confused... what do you mean by "do not see the external sd card separately?" Do they see contents of the SD card, but the contents appear to be a seamless and continuous part of the internal storage? Or the contents of the SD card aren't seen at all? Does Astro (file manager) see the contents of the SD card?
