Grinds my gears... Look people don't have to drive fast but if you aren't passing then get out of the damned passing lane!

Grinds my gears even worse.... when you are driving a car you have one, let me repeat, ONE job and that is driving the damned car. Get off the phone, don't play with the damned GPS or iPod, don't put on makeup, shave, or read a freakin' book (all behaviors I've seen by the way). Save all that for home, or work, or pull off someplace but great hoppin' Thomas Edison don't do it while you are driving!!!

I agree it's stupid trying to do make up and calling on the phone while driving, I always keep me eyes on the road and give full attention on the road all the time.

It's putting not only yourself in danger but others as well.

I drive what you guys call in yank land call a "stick shift" or a manual. It's got a crap load more controll. You can do engine braking incase your brakes fail on you.

What also grinds my gears is why do most of you Americans drive Automatics?

Manual is much safer incase the poop hits the fan when your brakes fail.
You can always engine brake in emergencies and can slow down the car much faster with engine braking in almost any situation.

I don't know why the majority of Americans don't use manuals.

Because most people got lazy and don't want to have to learn to do any more than they have to. It hurts to admit it, but i will be eternally grateful to my a$$hole ex for bringing home a car that was manual and making me learn (we didn't have anofher). Although I'd rather eat my own arm than ever admit it to him. I now won't buy it unless it is manual. And salesmen piss me off cause they act like I'm the first woman to drive one.

I hate it when good people are have to take sh*t from idiots, because they really don't have much of a choice! I see it everywhere I go. I hate those semi-sociopaths that break down the rational mind of their family members, only to be able to dominate them further. And then they congratulate themselves on being the strong and capable head of the family, when in reality they are petty, jealous tyrants living in constant fear of rebellion.

i also whole heartedly agree with BabyBlues: laziness and the rampant disinterest in learning anything new or different from what one is used to really makes me wanna scream. Stupidity is most often the lazy condemnation of the unknown and unfamiliar. The effort people make to actively NOT learn something new, or expand their horizon baffles me.

We were a 4 car family, and every car was a stick. Daughter took driving test on a stick. Floored the dude that gave the test. Broke my foot and had to shave down walking cast so I could shift. Truck had a clutch cancel start.

I also dislike all the power stuff. The Infiniti has power windows, seats, air, you name it. It is the only Japanese "luxury" car without a cup holder.

I prefer my 96 Tacoma 4WD. Crank windows, no air, no power seats and 2 cup holders. Since it's 4WD, I can at least see thru the windows of some of the large SUVs that people drive before making a turn. A lot of those with cars just try to turn if the SUV in front of them turns.

Wow! My three requirements when I bought my last car were that it had to be stick, have air and cupholders. (my Cherokee didn't have any and i was tired of cleaning up spilled drinks). He laughed, found my car and those are the only things it has. No power windows, no automatic locks. My next vehicle will be bigger though. It kills me to be lower than everything.

Left turns are not a God-given right! I just got stuck behind 2 idiots who were trying to make a left turn out of a parking lot into rush hour traffic. They were also pulled way over to the right, so no one that wanted to make a right turn could get around them.
The exit for the supermarket next door has a no left turn sign. The 2 exits are 3 feet apart with a divider between them.
The girls didn't care - they were texting.

I hate how true the cliche line "Chivalry is dead" is...I mean, a large majority of society has absolutely no problem lying to someone's face. Honor used to mean something to some people, virtue used to govern a man's choice. I hate being lied to my face, confronting that person and then given another lie to cover it up.
