Hi! I just bought a new Samsung SL 3 days back.. Im very excited about the mobile, n I jus love android!! I wanted to check for an update to the firmware for my mob, but I sadly, Kies is not working for my phone. :(:(:(

My laptop config is:
Windows 7 64 bit home premium
4GB Ram
500 GB hard disk

Kies is installed correctly( I think). After installation, there is an error report from Windows, telling that some drivers not installed properly("pcouffin" something)
On running the program, I get a pop up-

Your phone is not supported by Kies 2.0. Please check if your phone is supported, and try again.

I've been looking for a solution for past 48 hrs, but to no avail!!
Urgent help required....:(

If screenshots are reqd, I would post them..
Thanks in advance..

Odd. I have Kies 2.2 and its getting detected. Are you using another launcher on your phone? You can only use Kies if you are on TouchWiz. You must clear defaults of the new launcher you are using and them open TouchWiz homescreen.
I'm using the default launcher.. In fact, when all else failed, I reset my phone to factory settings, n formatted sd card n all.. Still no solution!!:thinking::thinking:

forget the cd. download the latest version.....
and does your phone hav the drivers for usb?
does your pc/laptop recognise your phone when kies is not on?

uninstall kies
perform registry clean (i recommend ccleaner)
download latest version to make sure its 64bit version
install
run kies and plug in thru usb

...im curious about why you are having bluetooth issues when connecting your phone thru usb, thus the registry cleaning. just my 2 cents.

So I spent all day trying to figure this out. The internet claimed that my Galaxy S Vibrant (Model #: SGH-T959ZKBTMB Carrier:T-Mobile) should be able to update to 2.2 firmware, but kies refused to let me even connect my phone and gave me that "Your model is not supported, bla bla" junk, where as the internet told me that kies should work. Then, I tried using Samsung New PC Studio to update which told me that my device wasn't registered. Then I struggled for hours as to what that meant. Then I found Samsung and I made an account and registered my phone and what not and it told me that I needed to use 'Samsung Kies mini' which is compatible with my model and it updated my phone on the first try. I hope this helps!
