Bionic vs. Atrix vs. Photon

Now that the stats are well known on the Bionic, what are the real differences between the Bionic and the other carriers flagship Moto phones?

It seems like basically a different processor company (although same dual core, 1gb stats) and slightly better camera (also larger screen than Atrix) but otherwise the changes appear cosmetic. Correct?
Did this really justify the signficant delay between carriers? What am I missing?

It seems like, at best, like the incremental jumps Apple is famous for between issues, rather than a tech leapfrog which would justify the delay.

The LTE chip took time from what I recall as well.

duke - Motorola, no stranger to chip design and fabrication (think - PowerPC, among other things), turned to their own R&D and devised their very own LTE chipfrom the ground up.

That doesn't happen overnight.

To me the biggest upgrade is the current performance of Verizon's LTE network vs HSPA+ vs WiMax. Hopefully the Moto chip outperforms previous LTE chips in terms of power consumption. I am pretty excited to try this one out.

LTE support is the largest difference between the phones. One minor difference is that the Omap in the Bionic is a more robust processor than the Tegra 2 in the Atrix and Photon.

Well, you really shouldn't be comparing the keyboarded phones to the plain screen phones. Just the main Moto candybars now.

Before the delay...it was gonna have a Tegra 2 and 512MB ram. Now it has an OMAP 4, 1GB ram and Moto designed their own LTE chip.

They just didnt wake up one morning and say "hey, lets change 2, 3 of the biggest specs of the phone and cause a delay for months". They made those decisions for a reason. Something made them go in a different direction.
