Google now has Live tech support/also reduces ETF

So I just saw on my Nexus through a news widget that Google now is sporting a live help line for owners of the Nexus One phone.

Phone number if anyone cares is 1-888-48-NEXUS (63987)

Says they also reduced the ETF for Nexus One owners..whatever that means.

So I finally have someone to ask about the refund I haven't received for a phone returned 3 weeks ago (and acknowledged as returned to HTC via their confirmation email and Fedex delivery confirmation) with a statement from HTC that I would see a credit within 7 business days. Three emails to Google about this have gone unanswered for over a week - not an auto-reply or canned message, but absolutely nothing.
I called and had Amex reverse the charges in about 5 minutes this afternoon...so I don't think I'll be calling them after all!

Why they didn't think a live customer support number was needed from the beginning really makes me wonder if they have half a clue.

Hmmm, so basically I can open a new line, get the nexus one for $180, wait a week, cancel that line with Tmo, then wait for google to charge me $150 and not return the nexus to tmo (obviously)?? Sounds good to me so as long tmo doesnt charge there own etf on top of that....Any thoughts??

does tmo have an etf if u cancel within 30 days? wouldn't u be required to return the phone when u cancel the contract?

T-Mo does...because people like you would try this scam. Did you seriously think this would work...like you are the first person that thought of it? T-Mo's ETF is $175 I believe.

I think they are about to release the phone on a larger network (subscribed) or do a larger advertising push. You don't need live tech support for 80k people for too long. Eventually the phones will start to work correctly and the tech could have been handled through TMO or HTC with Google subsidizing the special "unit" to handle N1 calls

Odds are if you cancel under a certain amount of time you will have to return the phone or pay the full etf.

You are forbidden to return a phone that's engraved. How are they going to get around that? Besides just hitting you up with their ETF even though you canceled within the grace period outline in contract.
