Speaker, library??

I just got a Hero from Sprint, still deciding how much I like/dislike it.
When you are on the phone, how do you turn the speaker on?
Also is there a default app that stores my book and scripture files? There is an ALBUM for photos, you would think there would be a LIBRARY for text files!?

When in a call press menu.

Download Bookreader App of your choice. I have created my own folder for books on my SD Card.
