I've tried to flash this phone couple of times with 3 different S5570 ROMs without success. Any info's about a ROM with better resource management? (SGH-T499V + froyo, heavy lags in angry birds... frustrating)

Hello Francis,

It is not yet possible to update the Canadian Galaxy Mini. (SGH-T499V)

However, the unit's European cousin Galaxy Mini, model S5570 has received an update to Android 2.3.4 I believe.

This update does not work on our SGH-T499V, but I watch this situation closely.

Once a formal process or not to take even more performance of the device is available, I will publish here the steps to accomplish, especially if the update is not over KIES.

For users of the Galaxy European, version 2.3.4 seems faster and improves the life of the battery.

I keep my fingers crossed.

If you want to brick your phone, keep flashing with S5570 roms.

I will quote from a post I just made a few minutes ago, as you can update to CyanogenMod 7.1 (android 2.3.7).

If you want to root the SGH-T499, superoneclick does work. SuperOneClick | shortfuse.org

You can gratis(free) sim/network unlock this phone very easily, you must do this on one of the original stock roms: xda-developers [TUTORIAL] Unlock Samsung [GT-S5570 / i5500 / Galaxy Ace]

The stock T-mobile and Mobilicity(Very Clean/Stock/Canadian) roms for the T499 are available here: [Archive] Stock ROMs and Tools

Finally there is a CyanogenMod 7.1 (android 2.3.7) port mostly working(incoming call screen delay and button lights aren't working) on the SGH-T499 at: [Development] CyanogenMod 7.1 "SGH-T499" Port

i know that most mini ROMs arent cross compatible with the Samsung T-499(galaxy mini rebranded by T-mobile) but is there any work-around to get this compatible with the Dart? by flashing the beta here i did get it to boot, though i had no service from T-mobile and upon attempting to shut down the phone it simply rebooted continuously. the dart is surprisingly unsupported when it comes to anything regarding Roms and such, and i was wondering if we could change this. im not much of a developer but id be willing to help out any way needed to change this. i was considering starting a thread just for the dart to see what i could come up with.

edit: the thread I started for the dart can be located here
