hello there. i have been reading this forum for quite a while, but never really needed to post anything. i bought a droid on release day and i love most things about it. i have a few good friends that own droids and frequent this forum....1 of whom was actually banned (lol). i really appreciate the amount of good info available here. i've always been able to find what i needed without having to ask anyone, even though it sometimes takes a little while. i just created an account this week because i'm starting to really get into this phone's "auxiliary" capabilities and i might actually have some questions. here's a little info about me...

i'm a 30 year old family man from maryville tn (knoxvilleish). i have a beautiful wife of 10 years and a beautiful 2 1/2 year old boy. i play/record/produce/write music for a "living", which really means my wife takes care of me (LOL). i don't really have a lot of tech knowledge about these phones, but i am familiar with smart phones in general. before the droid i was an omnia guy. i fooled around with custom roms and such with that thing but just got tired of winmo. i'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum but here's what i think of the droid as of version 2.0.1

likes: screen !!!! looks awesome AND very durable
multitasking (nav, pandora, and slideshow simultaneously)
still camera .... OUTSIDE OR IN GREAT LIGHTING
video camera (seems to do better in vid mode compared to still shots)
music volume/fullness (compared to iphone 3gs, omnia, env touch w/dolby)
PC MOUNTING !!!! LOVE IT!!!!! no extra software needed
battery life (compared to omnia)
built in speaker
virtual keyboard (preferred to the slide out, IMO)

dislikes: camera in normal to low light
scrolling lag on home screen and gallery
gallery in general (scrolling, load time, no hide/view options, limited general options)
voice control limitations (music search, app control)
market (not the phone's fault)
slide out keyboard (flat buttons )
sd card placement
no real native organization for the sd card (app folder, etc, etc)
no tv out

hopefully the next update will resolve those issues which can be resolved.

i look forward to being a part of this forum and i hope ya'll take it easy on this hillbilly noob.
