new to this forum! need some advice

i just bought a blackberry 9930 at the beginning of the month and my return date is coming up for if i want to return the phone. i only bought it to try something different in the meantime.
here's my dilemma:
i need to ship it back today (end of 14day return)
OR
keep it and can only exchange the phone per their 30-day return policy.

if i don't return it today, i have to be DEFINITE that the galaxy nexus will come out before november 27th, or else i'm stuck with a bb 9930 or exchanging for a rezound/razr.

what would you do? return now and just buy the galaxy nexus when it comes out BUT have to wait 1-2 days for my upgrade reversal to take into effect and 5-7 days for my money to refund
OR
keep the phone today and bank on the galaxy nexus releasing before the end of the month to exchange it.

While I think the Nexus will be out next week I would still suggest returning your current BlackBerry now if you really want to get it. If you are set on getting an Android device instead of a BlackBerry then there is no reason to keep it any longer. Once you have everything reversed you can go play with all three of the new phones and make up your mind then. You don't have to worry about it that way either.

I really hope that the Galaxy Nexus is a commercial succes, so that the Nexus line can be come a direct competitor to Apple.

I'm all for Nexus' glorious success, but don't want any Android manufacturer (esp. Googorola) to have preeminence. If the other Android partners think they're uncompetitive, they may start betting more of their chips on WinMo or Bada or whatever else is out there.

Has anyone given a review of the GN screen in comparison to the Rezound. There were several websites doing a closeup comparison of the difference between the Razr and the Rezound and you could really tell the difference in font definition. I would like to see a similar review of the GN and the Rezound.

I wanna see that too! Well, subject to Nyquist limitations, yada yada.

I bought a RAZR on first day 11/11 and really like MotoCast where I don't have to download my music or files on the phone. Is there something similar "cloud based service" in the Marketplace or elsewhere that I can purchase if I decided to return my RAZR for the GNEX?

Has there been any word on the antenna regarding 3g and cell reception? I was able to try out a friend's rezound and the antenna is crap compared to my og droid. I live in a little dead zone, but my droid can get a signal if I stand in the right place and hubbie's bionic gets a strong signal without jumping through hoops.

A store rep said Samsung is known for sub par reception,but he might have just been steering me away from the sgn.

Help, I don'tknow the first thing about lookingfor antenna info. Anyone seen anything in a review?

Would love info about volume too. I constantly use my droid as a podcast and book on tape player. I was shocked that the rezound was meh for speaker volume. The assumption that it would blast the sound was a main reason I was tempted by it.

not sure that anyone can really answer that without having played with the phone... some in the UK may have an answer for the volume concerns tho. i love Amurrica but i'm actually jealous of the Brits for once.

i've seen a couple posts about getting a signal amp that is slapped on the back of the battery... one user was using the DInc2 so perhaps its an HTC issue.

Been watching the slew of new videos that are rolling out (don't care if most are UK version) and, dangit, I think I'm getting the 'ol itch.

There is some chance the instant it's available I'm going to drop anything and everything I'm doing and go throw wads of cash at my local VZW store.

Yup. Me too! Welp, I went down to the Verizon wireless store in the hopes of seeing one of these babies. My customer service representative was not there today. Bruce is his name. Bruce was not there today. So my trip down to the store? A total waste, epic failure.

I have no news. I have no phone. I have no more information. Frustrating. In fact this guy didn't know very much about smart phones I had to help the customer there myself.

Must I do everything?


Anyway I'm truly disappointed. I was hoping to walk out of the store at least Pre-purchasing the phone. I asked the CSR can at least buy the phone now? He said no you can't do that.

I really thought today was the day for me. Oh well.

i had full intention of returning/exchanging it for the galaxy nexus when i bought it. but would you gamble to see that SGN will be released this month and NOT pushed back to december? b/c if it DOES, then i'm stuck with this or exchanging for a rezound/razr because my 14-day return period ends TODAY...

The show at Allstate on the 15th got very good reviews. He didn't start until 11:15, shocker. I just couldn't see buying tickets on the off chance that it was going to be the one good performance out of every 10 he does. Saw them with Skid Row in '91. Spectacular. Of course I was only 21, tickets were only $25 and I had much lower expectations....

Anyway, good call on the song.

I actually saw them twice in New York City when they did their first run back in 2006. I think they were classified as "warmup" shows. They played 4 dates at the Hammerstein Ballroom, which is an incredibly small kinda intimate venue, at least for them. I went to the first 2 dates. Same set each night but those were very good shows! Axl was spot on. Got to see A LOT of special guests in the crowd too. I got there early both nights and was able to get within 15-20 feet of the guard rail. At one point I noticed Chris Jericho a few people away from me.

Absolutely return it! with VZW in the picture, there's no telling what could happen. They've yet to announce a release date. Wouldn't bank on anything yet. A lot of great leaks and sources that have pointed to next week, but that could change behind the scenes when a single issue arises.

i've been sweatin' on this situation so much for the past 2 weeks since i've had this phone!! torturing myself just over verizon announcing a release date! LOL
i have until this evening to decide.. i was hoping to give the next few hours to see if they would make an announcement today...

Why on earth would you buy a blackberry? Take any android phone over that thing, razr, rezound, GN....anything.

i've never had a bb before and figured i'd give it trial period until i returned it hahah
i have 110% intention of having a droid (coming from the og droid) but between the 3 choices -- there is only ONE choice.. and that's the galaxy nexus!

Also HTC phones are famous for the signal bar to be off. the Dinc had that. I would have only one bar showing but it really had 3 to 4. But either way HTC has good radios. been using them for the past 4 years and NEVER had a problem with reception. so yes, he might have a lemon
