They don't care about your emails. If anything only free advertising with all the hype.

Want to send a message? Buy a phone on another carrier. Ask Netflix if they received their message. The problem is we won't buy another phone because VZW had the exclusive and the best network. This is the problem. We are stuck and can't do anything about it. And they know it.

First, in regards to the picture stating 12/08: I have a feeling this is from an authorized retailer, which would only indicate that THEY would be launching on 12/08, leaving the 11/21 still an option for w/o or corporate stores. The reason for this is the wording on the red dinc2. They mention that the units would be shipped direct from HTC and not "our VZW DC". This struck me as odd, as why would a corporate office have to refer to themselves as "our VZW DC"? It would make more sense if that was coming from an authorized retailer instead, especially as many of them cover multiple carriers. Even if I'm wrong here, there's also the possibility that this is merely the in-store date, as the prior info we had said 11/21 but web only.

As I think about this more, the more I believe this to be the case. I currently work for a large corporation (can't say which), and we never say "our [company name]" anything. Instead we'll say "our such-and-such department" or "our [city name] location". That includes on internal company dosuments/emails.

On the other hand, in my youth I worked for a music store and we would absolutely name our distributors in a similar fashion as the picture (i.e. "our Gibson distributor") since we dealt with many distributors.

It just seems implausible that the Nexus won't have a 32GB storage option. It may be that Verizon will start by selling a 16GB version, but not allowing the Nexus to compete with iPhone's storage options is something I suspect Google will not tolerate. Perhaps Verizon and Google are negotiating s 16GB release model and a later release (after XMAS) of a 32GB version. Maybe this is the holdup and not some software issue which an OTA would remedy.

so during our timeout I ran to Verizon. I could live with the ReZound. Now NFC is the only thing holding me to the GNex, but if the 16GB is confirmed I am gone.

I did ask about the GNex and the manager said they usually hear a couple weeks before the new phones come in and he hasn't had anything confirmed. When another employee said it would be soon the manager did correct him and say they haven't had anything official told to them.

I vote with Han to be reasonable, even if vzw seems like they are not.

Ok, a real question about the phone itself.

I have always had good luck with Moto phones in regard to actual phone calls. When I have used other brands in the past, the inevitable Moto replacement has always held signal much better in fringe areas (the back of my basement, for example) and for me, have always had superior performance as a phone.

I have never owned a Samsung phone. I hear very mixed reviews on HTC's as a phone. I tend to choose Moto, always assuming a Moto phone will be better, as a phone.

With your varied experience, what is y'all's educated opinion about how this Samsung Galaxy Nexus will perform as a phone as compared to other recent Samsung, HTC, and Moto phones?

No matter how good the device is otherwise, it must function well as a phone for me.

Opinions, please?

I see this thread slowing down dramatically with there not being anymore off topic posts... At least I won't be posting nearly as much. Back to lurk mode! Peace out cub scouts :)

On topic: Nexus r00lz.

Nah, Phases didn't call for an end to off topic stuff; he just said he wanted to cut out the banter right around a milestone post:

Did I get it?

Yes, I agree with what you said.
EDIT: I win!

meeeee?
Edit: Dammit, I missed it again!

That sort of thing. :p

Pestering Verizon, either nicely or negatively won't make the GNex come any faster.

That's fact.

However, pestering them negatively will only reflect badly on us.
You're probably right, unless Verizon is not hurrying to release this device because they've somehow managed to underestimate how much excitement has developed for it.

I agree that pestering them negatively won't get results and makes us all look like jackasses, but being persistent in reminding them how eager we are to get the GNex could at least help the powers that be at VZW understand their customers desires. Whether they care is another topic altogether.

NetFlix was in a hurry to fix their problem because it literally hurt their pockets. They tried to be greedy and learned their lesson.

I never did get an email or call back from John Bianchi after emailing him weds last week.

Who is to say that Monday the 21st isn't going to work. When they announced the Rezound it was during Sunday football for a Monday release. Shipments can be hitting the stores today with a deliver by date of today. Although this scenario is highly unlikely im going to hold off until Monday to come and go before I get all worked up again.

North Jersey ftw! That's where Im from too. :D

By your SN I am guessing that if I am naughty and get pulled over I should ask if the officer is on android forums? :D

Am I correct in assuming that we want a Rob letter and article? I really do. After all, if it ends up as a Phandroid article, I believe it will get more attention.

That would be a correct assumption from my end of things.
