Help Undo GingerBread Update

Tried it over the weekend, but don't care for it.
Is there any way to undo the gingerbread update and go back to Froyo?
You should call tech support and see what they say about that. I don't see why it couldn't be pushed to your phone like GB was. I'd be curious to hear what they say. What don't you like about it btw. I'm ok with it and TBH I really don't see a whole lot diff about it over froyo. Seems smoother which I like. Could just be my imaginative wishful thinking tho.;)

I talked with Casio Tech Support and they said no.
I'll call Verizon next, but I doubt they can doing anything.
The only other thing I've heard of is SBF flashing,
but I'm not sure what it is, how it's done, or if it can even be done on this phone.

The reason I don't like it is solely because of the status bar.
It's pretty hard for me to read in comparison to the Froyo bar.
(and i'm not old either) :)
I actually like a black bar,
but not if this is how they're gonna go about it.
Size DOES MATTER. :D

Other than that,
I can't see any difference performance wise.
To me it seems to run exactly the same,
with a nice black UI change.

Talked to Verizon.
They said the update cannot be undone.
I asked about a replacement and they told me that
the Gingerbread will end up being pushed to the new devise
anyways so there is no point.
Is that true?
I thought even if it were pushed that you had to agree to install it.
They said no.
You can disagree to install it so many times,
but after a while it will
auto update itself.

I'm good with the GB update. It runs much quicker, particularly when exiting apps. I'm okay with the black status/notification bar except that the WeatherBug temp indicator is black font, so it disappears. I can live with that too. The keyboard was promising, but I went back to the GO keyboard after about a day.

What I notice on the negative side is that it takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer to boot up, and that when I reboot, it's very picky about being used before it's fully loaded/processed/etc. When I get the home screen (locked) and then unlock it and try to swipe to another home screen, it spontaneously reboots itself. It works fine if I reboot it and then leave it alone for about 5 minutes before trying to do anything. That's not too cool.

Maybe it has something to do with it not being rooted and/or having as many apps as possible on the sd card.

FWIW, mine boots about the same now as pre update. I kind of like the black top bar and green sig bars are sorta cool. I use glasses anyway so the size of it makes no diff. As for ignoring the incoming os update it will grab you sooner or later I think. My commando updated over nite for the previous os(050). So I don't think ignoring it is an option. What Rafael said about rooting sounds like the best solution if you have the old version and don't want the GB. I'm fine unrooted and like the subtle changes and better stability now. I've been using Launcher Pro for the past few days and like it set to only one screen. With all my stuff on the bottom tray it's no problem and may actually help the stability a bit. No worries, I'll get bored with it and change it later. Lol.

You could try having somebody make a nandroid backup of stock 2.2, install clockwork recovery mod, then flash that backup, but I'm not 100% sure if that would work... Over at xda-developers, they have one for my phone, but, I don't know if out would work with this phone... (I'd have to do some research) (and you'd have to find somebody with 2.2)
(edit: sorry about the delay, I'm randomly on here, and this popped up at the top)

Eh...I've finally gotten used to it.
Thanks though.

As far as OS go:
I had a conversation with Verizon today on an unrelated issue,
but inquired about ICS coming to the Commando.
Guess they just had a meeting about this a couple days back,
and the response was, "it's not likely".
They aren't even talking about pushing it to these "old" devises.
So far I think she said that only 3 of the more recent older devises will
be getting the push.

Who really know though?
Verizon reps don't have a really good track record for knowledge, IMO :D
